RCD
Difference
Headquartered in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, RCD Technology
has been revolutionizing the growing RFID industry for the
last seven years. The RCD team is comprised of top industry
leaders in manufacturing, quality and product development.
Our team provides a unique combination of 100+ years of
experience in innovative product design and RFID technology
products and manufacturing processes. We offer you the
opportunity to let us apply that knowledge to find a solution
to fit your needs.
RCD has proven that the success of an RFID solution is
only as good as the tag deployed for the application. This is the
single most critical component for data collection. We recognize
the importance of environmental constraints and individual
requirements for each solution.
Most RFID tag vendors do not recognize the differences in
RFID solutions being deployed and try to impose a “one-tag-fits-all”
approach. As a result they deploy
traditional manufacturing processes that limit their offerings to
a few standard configurations.
With our combined knowledge and experience, and a
patented fabrication process, RCD can produce a virtually
unlimited range of tags that are optimized, in both function
(including chip selection) and size, for specific applications.
The result: consistently superior performance, durability
and quality, whether it’s a standard or custom product.
RCD produces a wide array of application-specific designs such as
passive HF, UHF, industry-specific RFID antennae, inlays
and prelams. We provide complete tag assembly and finished
products from our secure facilities in the United States.
A different approach. The best solution.
RCD Technology's approach provides a number of
significant advantages over traditional methods:
- Proprietary Process – Our patented
antenna fabrication process, and patent-pending ASIC attachment process
both produce custom and general-use RFID tags with the proven
performance of copper and the design flexibility of conductive
inks— with cost-effective development and
commercial volume pricing. Both of these processes allow
for rapid prototyping in sheet or roll form along with
the high volume capacity required for commercial volumes.
- Flexible Form Factors and Design –
Custom size antennae and inlays, non-standard shapes, tuning
for specific applications to increase read distance, durable
designs, and anti-tamper features are just a few of the
flexible design options supported by the RCD patented fabrication
process. The result: optimized transceiver distances, support
for more challenging applications, in highly durable, flexible,
and cost-effective packaging options.
RCD's fabrication processes enable us to address specific
customer needs — innovations that often lead to product
features with broad market appeal. For example, RCDSecure,
an exclusive feature incorporated into many RCD inlay designs,
came as the result of one customer's request for labels
that are rendered useless if removed. Once other customers
learned of this feature, they too found tremendous value
in implementing this innovative security feature as part of
their RFID tag solutions.
- Speed to Market – RCD's vertically-integrated
capabilities give us a strong advantage over the competition. Our processes
enable rapid delivery of customized tags,
with typical design turnaround times of several weeks —
versus the industry norm of several months for a new design.
In addition to the quick turnaround for your new
designs, RCD has a pilot process allowing volumes of under one-hundred to
be delivered in industry-leading turnaround times. These are two examples
of how RCD helps speed customers' time to market with RFID
applications.
