Dan McKinney - Chairman
Co-founder and Managing Partner NextStage Capital
Dan brings more than 20 years of experience to RCD. He has been involved as an operator, launching and managing technology
products and services, and as an investor, evaluating and investing in early stage technology companies. Prior to co-founding NextStage
Capital / NextStage Advisors, Dan was a Vice-President and Officer of Safeguard Scientifics (NYSE: SFE), a publicly traded venture capital firm.
During his two years at Safeguard, he led approximately $75 million of early stage venture investments, evaluated hundreds of businesses,
and personally sourced, structured and negotiated numerous transactions. While at Safeguard, Dan served as an active board member for
many companies, successfully recruited CEOs and CFOs, and led several business development efforts on behalf of portfolio companies.
Dan was also a member of Safeguard's investment committee.
Michael Forgash, Jr. - Director
Co-founder and Managing Partner Zon Capital Partners
Mike Forgash is a Managing Partner and founding member of Zon Capital Partners. Mike's twenty year career was primarily in the software
and services industry where he twice led companies as CEO to successful acquisitions. Mike leveraged these skills into a successful venture
capital career in 1998. Prior to the formation of Zon Capital, Mike was an officer and head of the e-Commerce and Software practice area for
Safeguard Scientifics (SFE), a publicly traded (NYSE) venture capital holding company. He was responsible for venture transactions totaling in
excess of $135 million and was a member of ten portfolio company boards, including three he assisted in their IPO process.
Todd Hewlin - Director
Managing Director – The Chasm Group
Todd Hewlin is a Managing Director at TCG Advisors. His background as a McKinsey partner and senior tech executive enables
him to help clients with both strategy and execution. Prior to TCG Advisors, Todd was responsible for Symbol Technologies’ $1.5 billion
in product businesses, including mobile computing, wireless networking, RFID, data capture, and mobility software.
His final role at Symbol was to partner with the Chairman to negotiate the sale of the company to Motorola.
The deal was completed for cash consideration of $4 billion representing the fifth largest tech M&A transaction of 2006.
Previously, Todd was a Managing Director at B2B e-commerce leader Internet Capital Group where he ran the strategy group and
served on the Executive and Investment Committees. ICG was the best-performing IPO on the NASDAQ in 1999. He started his career
as a Partner at McKinsey & Company where he co-led the Global Electronic Commerce practice and was a core partner in the Financial Services group.
Robert Oberle, Ph.D.
Director
Dr. Robert Oberle founded RCD Technology in 2000 and presently serves as Chief Technology Officer and as a member of its Board of Directors.
Dr. Oberle is responsible for the design and development of RCD’s products and processes to meet the needs of its diverse customer base.
He holds five issued US patents and numerous foreign patents as well as numerous patents pending in the US and internationally. Dr. Oberle
has spoken at numerous conferences on the subject of RFID tag fabrication and assembly. Prior to founding RCD Technology, Dr. Oberle held
positions in Marketing and Product Development with Engelhard Corporation, now part of BASF GmbH, and Research and Development at Enthone
Corporation, a subsidiary of Cookson Electronics. He holds a Ph. D. and MS in Materials Science from The Johns Hopkins University and a BS in
Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Philip Lazo
CEO and Director
A 20-year technology industry veteran, Mr. Lazo has a proven track record in leading the development, deployment, and management of RFID
and related automatic data capture technologies in a vast range of industries including healthcare, federal and DOD, travel and transportation and retail supply chain.
Prior to joining RCD, Mr. Lazo was Vice President and General Manager of the RFID division for Motorola Corp and Symbol Technologies.
Mr. Lazo has also built and led high tech product development teams at Tyco International and Sensormatic Corp.
Mr. Lazo graduated from the University of South Florida, with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He is also the holder of two U.S.
Patents relating to RFID technology and applications.
